According to Prescott Valley Chevrolet, buyers can get the Traverse in one of seven trim levels, listed as L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier and High Country. All models employ a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Most models get standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive.

Standard features on the base Traverse L trim include keyless open and start, 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, tri-zone automatic climate control, power windows and locks, cruise control, power heated outside mirrors, an HD rearview camera, HID headlights, MyLink radio with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

At the top of the lineup, the High Country trim can get an exclusive twin-clutch AWD system. It directs torque independently to the wheel with the best traction to provide more control when driving on slippery road surfaces.

Drivers with infants and small children will appreciate the Traverse’s Smart Slide second-row seat. Many midsize SUVs have a child-safety seat installed in the second row, making it difficult for passengers to get in and out of the third row. The standard Smart Slide feature solves this problem by allowing the right side of the second-row bench seat or the right captain’s chair to slide and tilt forward, even when there’s an empty child-safety seat attached.

The 2020 Chevrolet Traverse Safety gets excellent safety scores. The IIHS gave the Traverse its highest rating of Good in all crash tests. The Traverse also received the top marks of five stars for overall safety by the NHTSA.
