2021 Chevrolet Equinox Trim Levels
The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox is one of the most popular compact SUVs on the market. According to the Chino Valley Chevrolet dealership, it comes standard with a long list of safety features. There are four trim levels on offer: L, LS, LT and Premier. All models are powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s good for a competitive 170 horses and 203 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all trims except the L have optional all-wheel drive. Here’s an overview of what each Equinox trim offers buyers.
Equinox L
The Equinox L trim is the base trim. Many customers of dealerships like Chino Valley Chevrolet appreciate this model’s great value, but potential buyers should take note that this trim is only available as a special order, which means there will be a wait while it’s being assembled. Standard features include LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights, heated mirrors, height-adjustable front seats, keyless entry and ignition, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system and Bluetooth. Also standard is GM’s award-winning OnStar communications system with a built-in 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.
Chevrolet equips the Equinox L with some valuable accident-avoidance technologies, including lane departure warning and mitigation, automatic high-beam control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, and a rearview camera.
Equinox LS
Step up to the Equinox LS trim, and you’ll get even more features and the ability to get all-wheel drive. There are some additional exterior paint choices, too. The optional LS Convenience package adds a power-adjustable driver’s seat and rear privacy glass. A rear-seat entertainment system is available.
Equinox LT
If you’re looking for more luxury, take a look at the Equinox LT. It comes with xenon headlights in place of the halogen headlamps found on the lower trims, a power adjustable driver’s seat, rear-seat release levers, an upgraded information display and satellite radio.
There are two option packages available for the Equinox LT. The Confidence and Convenience package is a popular choice. While heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control enhance comfort, blind-spot monitoring makes you more aware of unseen vehicles. Rear parking sensors, remote start and a power liftgate are also included in this package. Meanwhile, Chevy’s Infotainment package brings a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen with navigation and additional USB ports.
Equinox Premier
The range-topping Equinox Premier trim comes with all the features of the two option packages mentioned above, plus a hands-free liftgate, driver-seat memory functions, LED headlights and taillights, and wireless charging.
Those looking for a premium ride can choose the Confidence and Convenience II package. It includes comfort and convenience features such as ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. When approaching expected road hazards, the vibrating Safety Alert Seat warns you to take action. This package also includes a surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control and a Bose premium audio system.
Whichever trim level you choose, you’ll have the confidence that comes with knowing the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox is safe. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2021 Equinox its top overall safety rating of five stars. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2021 Equinox its highest score of Good in all crash tests and named it a Top Safety Pick.
