The Chevrolet Tahoe gets a redesign for 2021 that gives this full-size, traditional SUV interior and exterior restyling. A new independent rear suspension helps to give the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe better handling and an even smoother ride. According to the Winslow Chevrolet dealer, the Tahoe also gets more space for passengers and cargo, new technology features, and a new available diesel engine that supplies lots of torque and exceptional fuel economy.
The Traverse seats up to nine passengers in three rows, although most customers of the Winslow Chevrolet dealership are likely to choose seating configurations for seven or eight passengers. Buyers can choose from six trim levels, listed as LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier and High Country.
There’s a total of three engines on offer:
5.3-liter V8 engine generating 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque
6.2-liter V8 producing 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque for the High Country trim
3.0-liter turbodiesel six-cylinder engine developing 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque (available for all trims except Z71)
All engines are coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission. All trims get rear-wheel drive standard and optional all-wheel drive except the Z71, which gets all-wheel drive standard. The diesel engine supplies the highest fuel-economy figures, with an EPA-estimated 21 mpg city/28 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive* All-wheel-drive models return 20 mpg city/26 mpg highway.
Autoblog gave the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe high marks, writing: “The 2021 Tahoe is unquestionably a major improvement over its predecessor. The independent rear suspension in particular corrects the previous ride, handling and interior packaging issues, while the new cabin keeps the Tahoe fresh and modern in a segment that is mostly quite the opposite.”
Rear-seat passengers will stay comfortable, thanks to the 2021 Tahoe’s added interior space, which features a full 10 inches more rear leg room. There’s ample room for cargo, with 15.3 cubic feet more space behind the rear seats than the outgoing model, for a total of 25.5 cubic feet. With all the seats folded, there’s a cavernous 122.9 cubic feet of cargo space. The Tahoe’s lower floor makes it easier to load items inside. The maximum payload capacity is 1,834 pounds, and the 2021 Tahoe can tow up 8,400 pounds.
The base LS trim comes with a mechanical limited-slip differential, remote engine start, eight-way power front seats, premium cloth seating, tri-zone climate control and automatic windshield wipers. Standard infotainment features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an infotainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen, a stereo system with six speakers, and an in-car Wi-Fi. Also standard is forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
At the top of the lineup, the High Country trim includes the V8 engine, an adaptive air suspension, Magnetic Ride Control, a surround-view parking camera system, a rear camera mirror, a 15-inch head-up display, and reverse automatic emergency braking,
