“Chevrolet’s habit of grafting old model names onto new cars may agitate purists, but we say why let a good name collect dust? Today’s subcompact Chevy Trailblazer bears little resemblance to its truck-based midsize SUV namesake from two decades ago. It’s more comfortable, easier to park and gets better fuel economy. It’s also respectably roomy for people and cargo.”

The Chevrolet Trailblazer is offered in four trim levels: LS, LT, Activ, and RS. The Trailblazer is powered by a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine delivering a sprightly 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available. All-wheel-drive models are equipped with a more robust turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine producing 155 hp and 174 lb-ft, paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

EPA estimated fuel economy for the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer is rated at 29 mpg city/33 mpg highway for models with front-wheel drive.* The figures are 26 mpg city/30 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.

The Chevy Trailblazer impresses with a spacious interior that doesn’t compromise comfort or style. As of this writing, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has yet to test the 2024 Trailblazer. However, the previous model received the agency’s best rating of Top Safety Pick+. We expect an identical score this year.
