Malibu Trim Levels
The 2021 Chevrolet Malibu seats five passengers and is offered in five trim levels: L, LS, RS, LT and Premier. According to the Chino Valley Chevrolet dealership, front-wheel drive is standard on all trims. We’ll look at the different trim levels and see what each one brings to the table.
The Malibu L, LS, RS and LT trims are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Malibu L trim’s standard features include 16-inch alloy wheels, six-way manually adjustable front seats, cloth upholstery, keyless ignition and entry, cruise control, an audio system with six speakers, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rearview camera and Bluetooth.
The Malibu LS trim starts with the base L trim’s features and adds driver and front-passenger vanity mirrors, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and the Teen Driver safety system. The standard Buckle to Drive system prevents the driver from driving the Malibu unless the seat belt is fastened. The Malibu LS allows buyers to choose from a number of available features and option packages.
The Malibu RS trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a black grille and badging, a rear spoiler, dual exhaust, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and body-color outside mirrors.
The Malibu LT trim gets the features of the LS, plus rear passenger vents, remote start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated power-adjustable outside mirrors and satellite radio. The LT gets several options and two available appearance packages: Midnight Edition and Sport Edition.
The range-topping Premier trim is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 250 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, connected to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Standard features include 19-inch wheels, leather upholstery, LED headlights, driver-seat memory settings, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a six-way power-adjustable passenger seat and a dual-pane sunroof. Also standard are an 8-inch digital driver information display, an upgraded infotainment touchscreen, a nine-speaker Bose premium audio system, navigation, wireless device charging, two rear USB ports and an AC power outlet.
